🏡 Where You Can Use Them
Use for starting suitable vegetable, herb and flower seeds, organising nursery seedlings, home gardening activities and small growing projects. Keep indoors with sufficient light or in a sheltered outdoor growing area appropriate for your chosen crop. These are starter pots; larger crops need transplanting as they grow.
🌿 How to Sow Seeds
- Place the pot on a waterproof nursery tray and fill with lightly moistened seed-starting mix, leaving a little space below the rim.
- Sow seeds at the depth and spacing stated on their packet. Label the crop and sowing date.
- Water gently to settle the mix. Keep it evenly moist, without leaving the pot standing in water.
- Provide the temperature and light recommended for the crop. Check moisture daily because small fibre pots can dry out.
- After germination, provide suitable bright light and thin crowded seedlings. When ready, move the root ball carefully into a larger pot or prepared bed; avoid damaging roots. Acclimatise indoor-grown seedlings gradually before outdoor planting.
💚 Care Tips
Support the base while moving a filled or wet pot. Protect furniture with a tray. Store unused pots dry and ventilated. Germination time and success depend on seed quality, temperature, moisture and crop requirements.
